TIME TERMINATOR PAGE-16; MYSTERIOUS DREAM
After some time Kevin and John went to the bungalow. General
was sitting near the dinning table, Katherine was entering to the
central hall. There was an unusual silence. No one was trying to break
that. John and Kevin sat on the chairs. John was in some deep thoughts.
Kevin was very passive. General wasn’t at all noticing them. But
Katherine was doubtfully looking at John.
“Don’t you had a better sleep yesterday?”
General looked at John and asked. He was little shocked hearing this.
“No, no Sir , I had some bad dreams.”
“It is better to avoid those bad dreams in this young age. Those are a result of your suppressed desires.”
General was looking so sharply.
“I will try Sir. But it is not one which I could avoid.”
General turned in the direction of window. The window was faded with ice. But it seemed to be that he could even see something through that. There was a half smile on his face. Taking a deep breath he looked at the roof and said.
“Today is one of the happiest day in my life.”
“What is that dad?”
Katherine was curious watching the pleasant smile on his face after so many years.
“I met one of my old friend, the only best friend me who is alive today.”
He stood up from the chair and turned to John.
“Also best friend of her mother, in fact she was the other best friend of me.”
General walked towards Katherine.
“George, he was a scientist in the military laboratory when I was working there. And he was eliminated from service as he disagreed to do an assigned project. And it is after such a long time I could meet him again.”
There was a pause, but it was a rush of thoughts in John’s head. Why didn’t George told them about this before. He didn’t get any answer. He was already sweating.
“John, are you okay?”
“Yeah….”
“Better take rest. I am going to my office. Katherine take care of him.”
General went out through the doorway. But he could see general stopping for a while and looking back at him. He was feeling that he was already in a trap.
“Oh my God, thanks to you people. Father had changed a lot.”
Katherine exclaimed.
“What?” Kevin didn’t understood much.
“Yes he wasn’t at all talking about his life before. But he even told the thing happened in the lab today.”
“Why it is so special?” This time it was John.
“The lab is so secret. And I didn’t see him talking about that to anyone before.
There was a pause in the conversation. Katherine was in great joy. But there was same feeling in both Kevin’s and John’s eyes. They could see that the problem is becoming more and more complicated. Lucifer seem to be a master mind behind all this.
Shortly after that John went to bed. He was so tired as he couldn’t sleep last night. The sleep was already flowing over him. Somewhere in the sleep the puzzle became a dream.
He was standing at the middle of a huge chess board. All the characters are well arranged. They have almost the height of a man. Suddenly they started to move. Actually they where dashing. He couldn’t understand what was happening. He could roughly see a hand in the darkness, which was the only thing he could see around the board. Suddenly everything comes to a halt. He ran between the characters. It was a check. The white king was trapped. Suddenly colors of those charactors started to change. White was turning into black, black into white. He looked towards his foot. The black squares are changing into white also. His vision was fading. Every character had disappeared except king and something else. They turned into Lucifer and George. Lucifer was holding a sword which was pointing towards the neck of George. George’s death is about some moments away. He ran towards them.
“No you can’t, no, he is your friend.”
He pleaded at the top of his voice. He was standing on his knees in front of them. Crying aloud. But both of them had no feeling. He was little surprised watching this.
“Yes John, we are. But you cannot interrupt this game.”
“But I have to. How can you kill George?”
“Look carefully my dear, you are in a confused reality.”
“Confused reality?”
He looked around and looked at them again. He was shocked. Was shivering with fear. This time George was holding the sword.
“What? No George, How could this happen?”
With a smile George looked at John.
“This was always happening John. But you can’t see this properly. “
“Indeed, but you have to go back.”
“No dear, reversal of time is against causality. So your wish is impossible.”
“Then what can be a solution for this?”
“To be honest, we are two souls trapped in a loop. And that is also because of us. So don’t worry about it.”
“But…….” John couldn’t say anything.
“It’s OK dear. Remember sometimes words have great implications. And just forget this from your reality.”
He could see a sudden movement of the sword. Two bodies was lying in front of him in the floor. But their heads were cut away. Blood was spreading all over. Everything became dark. So dark that he couldn’t even breath. “Help……help…..” he cried out.
Katherine ran towards his bed and hold on his hand. He was suffocating as he was drowning.
“What happened John? Are you okay?”
She shouted and spread some water on his face.
“The loop……loop…..”
“What?” She couldn’t understand anything.
“Ah, what happened? What did I say?”
“I think you had a terrible dream.” She replied.
“Yeah, but it was close to reality.”
“Is it? Then consider it to be real.”
She walked away with a smile.
Kevin was entering the room watching this. He couldn’t understand what just happened. He could see John was disappointed.
“Are you okay John?”
“Yeah.” His eyes was still moving vigerously.
“I think Lucifer and George is connected.”
“Connected? What did you mean?”
Kevin was little surprised hearing that.
“We have to tell him that we know about George.”
“Seriously? Are you a fool? I think he had already caught George. If he is finding us also our mission will never be completed.”
Kevin expressed his total disagreement.
“You have to remember that George had done all these for us, for everyone else.”
Kevin lost control over his emotion.
“No Kevin, it is a loop. We need a person inside it to know about it. We can’t reach to George now.”
“Loop?”
Kevin’s question reflected in the silence. He couldn’t really understand what John had said. He felt that they were almost trapped in the cruel silence of the room.
